Name of Airbnb : Cosy life in the Country
Room Type : Private Room
Area : Imabari 今治市
- We chose Imabari as the base of our 1st week stay in Shikoku as that's where we wanted to go cycling for the first time in our life when we travel.
- Although we had some difficulty finding it using the car GPS(this is explained in a separate section), the moment the host found us, everything turned out right.
- The room is located on the 1st floor. Facing the door is an open area where the sink and mirror are, with the toilet to the left and to the right, a small mini-fridge, a hot water dispenser and coffee table. This is very convenient for us to make coffee/tea or keep sandwiches, pastries or fruits in the fridge and of course to wash up.
- The room is just big enough for 2 people, with space to sit down and eat if you bring back food.
- The shower/bath is located on the ground floor and though we did not use the bathtub, the shower worked just great.
- At night, we had good sleep with the window opened to cool air in the night, and it was really tranquil. There is mosquito netting to prevent these little creatures from coming in.
- It's pretty close to supermarkets (one 24hr Halows) and restaurants.
- Everyday, the host replenishes the hot water dispenser, coffee or tea if necessary and clears the trash. She is also helpful if we need something, despite communication difficulties.
- Cycle, walk and drive across the Kurushimakaikyo bridge
- Oboke Gorge and Iya Kazura bridge
- Mt Ishizuchi
- Seaside walk on the western coast at Roadside Station Kazahaya no sato Fuwari at sunset
- Emiful Masaki Shopping Centre
- A-Coop supermarket
- HALOWS 24 hr supermarket
- AEON Mall
- DAISO
- UNIQLO Emiful
- All in all, as it is our first Airbnb experience, and it's in Japan, it's really good and Imabari is indeed a wonderful gateway to Shikoku. The Japanese home is well designed and it's comfortable to stay in.
- Imabari is also a comparatively cheaper place than Matsuyama or other big towns in Shikoku (I may be wrong though, locals will know better).
