We were on our way to Kochi from Uwajima, and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, as we were hoping to try some grilled meat restaurant. We were also hoping that it would be charcoal grill, but it is not, gas stove. Anyway, we looked at the menu and decided to try it.
We were fortunate to have a girl who could interpret a bit of the menu in English, and so we asked her for advice on the wagyu selection. The business set lunch was a good deal, but had no wagyu, so we had to order a la carte. She suggested one selection for a start, and so we followed, ordering the one coated with salt only, including chicken gizzard, and a serving of green salad. For this type of excellent meat, we do not prefer the one coated with sauce, as the sauce tends to be on the sweet side, and we prefer the natural taste of the beef.
The orders arrived, and we were given a complementary serving of vegetables, to accompany our grill. Before that, she had already lit the stove to get the grill going. The wagyu selection had 7 pieces. Soon we were grilling the meat, gizzard and some vegetables. Wow, the meat was really tender and delicious, so we were happy with our choice. We also asked for green tea at the end, to finish our meal. The service staff here is very pleasant and helpful.
So we returned the next day, to try other wagyu selections, the more expensive ones. This time round, we chose 2 types, both wagyu(also asked for the one coated with salt), and it was so much better : both melts in the mouth and it's tender, juicy and so tasty.
It's a chain of 3 restaurants in the Kochi area, and it's really worth trying the wagyu beef.
